Dr Denese SPF 30 Defense Day Cream - 4 oz tube

If you’re looking for a sunscreen with a bit of a tint, Dr. Denese SPF 30 Defense Day Cream is worth a shot. I have fair skin with a tint of red, so when I use a tinted sunscreen, I use it like a makeup primer and apply my powder foundation over the top.

• Do be aware of ingredients – the Defense Day Cream has a silicone base and may not be well-suited for acne prone users because of this.

Silicone causes the lotion to “sit” on the skin and not absorb. In skin care, this is normally bad, but with a sunscreen, you want it on top of your skin. That’s what gives you protection. (Dimethicone is in this product, it is derived from silicone.)

Silicone is more difficult to wash off at night so be sure to take extra time to scrub. Test on a small area before you fully try the product.

The Dr Denese SPF30 Defense Day Cream is packed with vitamins and moisturized my skin. If you have combination or normal skin, this would be a great SPF to use as a foundation base under your powder. This Denese skin product has a matte finish and is oil-free, so if you have oily skin, give it a try.

If you’re looking for a tinted sunscreen that has more coverage, try the Credentials Skin Perfecting Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20. It has better coverage, however, it is not oil-free.
