All these Vitamin C lotions, serums, masques and more – which ones are the best? I have used many of SkinCeuticals products, including Serum 15 AOX+, Serum 10 and CE Ferulic.

SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic has 15% vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) and 1% vitamin E (alpha tocopherol). SkinCeuticals has patented this specific percentage combination of acids, but you may also mix these acids yourself for a cheaper alternative (if you so choose).

I was eager to try any of the SkinCeuticals products after my love of the Serum 15. My first impression of CE Ferulic is that it it feels like I am getting anti-aging benefits, but it was much stickier than the other Vitamin C serums they have in their line.

Since I have used many Vitamin C Serums, I know that the vitamin C is not what made my skin feel sticky after application of CE Ferulic. The Ferulic Acid caused my skin to feel sticky every time and numerous customers have given the same feedback. We recommend using a Vitamin C morning and night, however, if you choose this product, only use at night because of the stickiness.

• I recommend using this product at night, but if stickiness bothers you at all, I would use one of the straight vitamin C serums like Serum 20, 15 or 10.

• As a warning when using vitamin C, ALWAYS wear sunscreen and try to stay out of the sun. Vitamin C makes you more sensitive to the suns rays. This is why the ferulic acid content is beneficial; it helps protect you from sun damage after application of vitamin C.

• You will see a brightening and tightening of the skin after 3-4 weeks of daily use.
